Dane County YES! (Youth Entrepreneurs in Science) brings together the creative youth of Dane
County and people working in the region’s commercial tech sectors
together to help students turn their inventions and business ideas
into real business plans.

Who may enter the contest?
Students, or small teams of students, who attend middle and high schools in Dane County. The contest will be judged according to class categories: 9th grade and under, 10th grade, 11th grade and 12th grade. It will be conducted in stages, with a numerical scoring system spread across the eight major parts of a business plan.
Dane County public school districts are: Belleville, Cambridge, Deerfield, DeForest, Madison, Marshall, McFarland, Middleton-Cross Plains, Monona Grove, Mount Horeb, Oregon, Stoughton, Sun Prairie, Verona, Waunakee and Wisconsin Heights.
Private high schools in Dane County include (but are not limited to) Abundant Life Christian School, Edgewood High School and Madison Country Day School.

The 2009 Phase 2 Pizza Prep Party was held on Saturday, April 18 at the MG&E Innovation Center, 510 Charmany Drive, Room 50. - Students advancing in the contest received certificates of commendation, heard from entrepreneurs Ian Gurfiled of Ian's Pizza and Dale Beerman of Sharendipity.com, and received help preparing for Phase 2 from the Dane County YES! Team.
